Welcome to Joshua Andres Sculpture and Design

Joshua Andres was born and raised in Southwest Michigan. At an early age his creativity and attention to detail was evident. Throughout adolescence he was very artistic and expressed it in art class in school as well as at home by building and tinkering with things around the house. More often than not, useful materials were destroyed to re-engineer some new and unique visual masterpieces, functionality aside. It was the first step towards art that Joshua took.

Joshua has public works on display all over the region including Silver Beach Pizza and Curious Kids Museum in St. Joseph Michigan and in Benton Harbor Michigan at Intercare Hospital, Water Street Glassworks and on the Site of what once was The Liberty Theatre. Joshua completed an extensive sculpture project at Harbor Shores Gold Club which included over 20 individual sculptures positioned at each tee box and around the clubhouse.

Joshua Andres has worked with metal fabrication and design for over fifteen years in Southwest Michigan. His collegiate education focused on sculpture, design and beautifying spaces great and small. Joshua enjoys creating one-of-a-kind designs comingling stainless steel with natural steel for its depth and contrast. This artist loves the creative challenge of making functional pieces for businesses like a one-of-a-kind ice cream cone door handle or a 25 ft steam locomotive scale model. For homeowners that want to amply their aesthetic he can work with them to create the ideal piece for their home. His work can be seen in hospitals, bank lobbies and throughout Harbor Shores Golf Course. In case you were wondering, his love for metal does include old cars, trucks, trains and all things with a nostalgic feel, and many moving parts. His skillset is broad and accommodates both private and public art displays that vary in size and complexity. He specializes in flowing nature inspired sculptures, custom furniture, unique railings, signage, detailed scale models, tributes, memorials and so much more.

Art makes the world go ‘round

Artwork colors our lives and makes them interesting. A world without art would be a drab, dull place with no feeling. My world revolves around art. Not only my art, but all art new and old. I feel that art documents the history of our world. Not with words and quotes but with feelings and emotions. I create what I feel. I envision the works in my head a million times over before they are finally transferred to my hands.

Art for me is an outlet. It is a way for me to express my feelings and emotions to the rest of the world. I work with different media types to achieve different goals and to express different feelings. The art I create speaks of me and of my world. It is my “quote” to be frozen in history. If I am to be remembered, this is what for. I create art to add a touch of color to our gray, industrial lifestyle. I love creating art, but more than that I love creating emotions. Emotions in me as well as those in the people affected by my work.

Art makes the world go ‘round. It is a truly free form of expression. Confusing for those who do not understand it. Loved by those who take the time to see it.
